No matter how appealing extraordinary fashion is, in everyday life we all want coziness and comfort in our stylish outfits. So what should your closet be like and how can cashmere clothing help you achieve this? We tell you all about the luxury brand that knows all about it.

The Loro Piana brand has been around for almost a century, although its formation dates back to the 17th century. Italy is a major center of the textile industry. Already in the 1800s, the Piana dynasty traded wool and fabrics in the Piedmont region and was a manufacturer itself.

A few years later, after the end of the First World War, the then head of the family Pietro Loro Piana finally organized its production under the brand name Loro Piana. For a long time the company produced its materials only for the domestic market, mainly due to the unstable economy.

However, with the growing demand in neighboring countries for Italian products, the brand managed to organize exports, and this was done by Franco's successor. After the Second World War the company managed to expand the geography of supplies to such distant countries as America and Japan. In the 70s, the authority of the brand grew to cooperation with many premium brands in Italy, France and other countries. This was facilitated by Pietro's sons Sergio and Pier Luigi. The company diligently raised the quality standards of their yarns and fabrics and did not think about changing the angle of production. Their range of finished products was limited to plaids and scarves.

The first step towards making clothes was precisely the need for good shape for the sports that the Loro Piana family was passionate about. They started to try modeling clothes for their favorite hobbies: yachting, riding competitions and car racing. The turning point was the 1992 Summer Olympics.

The first model of Horsey jacket was made for the Italian national team racing participants. Horsey was so successful that it became part of the permanent assortment of the brand and can still be bought today. Since then, the company has focused on creating a range of quality and discreet clothing to the best parameters using their own fabrics.

The first collections of clothes began to be distributed through premium boutiques in America and Europe. And by the end of the decade, the first boutique opened in Milan, after which the brand began to rapidly develop a network of stores. Today the number of Loro Piana boutiques tends to two hundred in many countries of the world. Despite the huge popularity of ready-to-wear, the brand does not change traditions - they are still engaged in the creation of the best fabrics and sell it to various clothing factories, which have the same high requirements and standards in relation to raw materials.

Cashmere is considered to be the softest and most pleasant type of wool in the world. The production of this fabric requires a lot of manual labor in the initial stages. The homeland of this fabric is the province of the same name in India. However, for the most part, the production facilities are located in China. In some mountainous regions of Pakistan, wool is also extracted, but this raw material has less luxurious characteristics. But the main role is played not so much by geography as by the raw material: cashmere wool is provided by a special kind of high-altitude goat, which does not live in captivity. It is the harsh, almost arctic mountain climate that affects the animals in such a way that their wool has incredible warming properties. The wool fibers of these goats are 5 times finer than human hair, which is why cashmere clothing is so pleasant to touch. In addition, this wool is hypoallergenic.

Merino wool

This is the breed of sheep whose wool has such impressive properties and textile effect not on the whole carcass, but only in the withers area - the small amount of wool that is sheared off explains the cost of the products. Nevertheless, the fiber is also superfine and very soft, has a lovely curl, which, however, is almost never found in finished products. Sometimes in more budget-friendly textile options you can find a blend of merino with other types of wool.

Angora and mohair

These types of fabrics are made from the wool of Turkish goats, whose habitat is located in the province of Angora. These endemic animals were also repeatedly bred in other territories, but eventually took root only in South America. These fabrics are perfect for coats, jackets and jackets due to their very stiff but pleasant texture.

It is worth noting that today there is another type of fabric "Angora", which is made from rabbit down. Such a variant arose due to the shortage of supply of goat wool. This analog is very pleasant to the touch, but short-lived, unfortunately.

Alpaca

These super cute relatives of llamas and camels from South America are adorable with their ever-smiling faces and excellent wool quality. Alpacas have quite a wide range of colors including black, white and many shades of beige, gray and brown.

Apart from wool, the brand has quite a large range of natural fabrics. Loro Piana works with cotton, viscose and natural leather.

The brand's famous loafers have not gone out of fashion for many seasons thanks to their incredible comfort and universal design. For different seasons you can buy lighter models made of leather and suede, and with an addition in the form of fur trim.

Leather bags are becoming popular in the collections of the brand. The style of models is as always laconic and can serve as an excellent basic bag for every day, not yielding in elegance and convenience to such brands as Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and others.

The understated style of the collections, without flashy logos or even any decoration, as well as the quality of the clothes, were very much appreciated by members of high society in different countries. Loro Piana became one of the first brands that epitomize "stealth wealth", a luxury that does not need to be deliberately demonstrated and proved its importance, as well as its own.

Loro Piana clothes and shoes are the embodiment of elegance and versatility at the same time. In addition to the old money style favored by aristocracy and modern fashionista representatives, the clothes of this brand fit into the concept of minimalism as well as possible: you will hardly see any extravagant twists with neon, excessive lace, rhinestones and complex silhouettes created by this brand.

Any Loro Piana piece works great for balance in a look. Famous for its neutral hues, sweaters, coats, jackets and shoes can be a fashionable springboard and a base for other outfit accents in bright hues. The brand's Pieces of clothes are ideal to use as a basic closet: you will look stylish and noble whatever your lifestyle.

As true aristocrats, the Loro Piana brand is actively engaged in activities that benefit the public good. As the company specializes in the production of the highest quality fabrics, the raw materials need to be of the same level. Sergio and Pier Luigi have traveled the world extensively in search of sources of the finest wool. One of the best types, besides merino and cashmere, was the wool of vicuna, an extremely beautiful and graceful animal from South America, a relative of the lamas, but belonging to the camel family. In 19-20 centuries these beautiful animals were mercilessly exterminated - despite the rather voluminous "coat", from 1 animal per year you can get less than half a kilogram of wool suitable for the textile industry. The company decided to contribute to the recovery of the vicuna population, while obtaining the right to use their wool in a safe way. Today, thanks to the efforts of Loro Piana, there are more than 200 thousand animals in total.

Passionate about many sports, a special love of the heirs of the house of Loro Piana found equestrian and sailing. In their native Italy, the brand became a sponsor for these sports associations. As for the manufacture of equipment for these sports, the brand develops the latest technologies for processing fabrics, one of the most famous being the Storm System with waterproof properties.

The Loro Piana brand has earned the fame of a truly elite brand, which for many decades has been dressing us in magnificent products of the highest quality of all possible, and their style is recognizable and will never go out of fashion, with its fickle moods.
